Nasadiya Sukta
Nasadiya Sukta (नासदिया सूक्त) is located in the Rig Veda. This song beautifully depicts the formation of the Universe. This Nasadiya Sukta is the 129th Hymn of the 10th Mandala of the Rigveda.

OM tacCam yOrAvRuNImahE gAtuM yaj~jAya gAtuM yaj~ja patayE
daivI svastirastu naH svastirmAnuShEByaH
UrdhvaM jigAtu BEShajaM SaM nO astu dvipadE SaM catuShpadE
OM SAMtiH SAMtiH SAMtiH
Meaning : We pray to the God who continually grants us blessings. May this Yagna proceed without any interruptions! We ask the gods for good fortune! Best wishes to humanity! Best wishes to our bipeds and quadrupeds! Allow our crops to grow more quickly.
May peace prevail all around!

OM nAsadAsInnO sadAsIt tadAnIM nAsIdrajO nO vyOmAparO yat
kImAvarIvaH kuha kasya SarmannaMBaH kImAsIdgahanaM gaBIraM
Meaning: Maybe there was neither substance nor void prior to the Creation. There were no worldly emotions. There was no Heaven and nothing beyond Heaven. Was it covered by a lid? Who reported it? Who can tell where that lid ended up? And what type of lid was it? Who is able to sense it? Who is able to gauge its size? Did that lid exist? Who might be aware of it? Does God know it!?
na mRutyurAsIdamRutam na tarhi na rAtryA Ahna AsIt prakEtaH
AnIdavAtaM svadhayA tadEkaM tasmAddhAnnanna paraH kiM canAsa

Meaning: There was no apprehension of dying. And there was no existence either. There were no indications of Day and Night. God, lacking his own breath, inhaled by calling upon his eternal powers. There was no one apart from HIM, just HIM alone.
tama AsIt tamasA gUDhamagrE2prakEtaM salilaM sarvamA idaM
tucCyEnABvapihitaM yadAsIt tapasastanmahinAjAyatraikaM
Meaning: Prior to that, there existed only darkness enveloped in darkness. Water is found everywhere. However, that water is imperceptible to anyone.
He was everywhere. Yet He was the void confined within the void. Yet He could reveal Himself through the abilities gained by performing Penance.
kAmastadagE samavartatAdhi manasO rEtaH prathamaM yadAsIt
satO baMdhumsati niravindan hRudi pratIpyA kavayO manIShA
Meaning: Then sages discovered the yearning that emerged in the thoughts of humans. They sought to explore the connection between Sat, reality, and unreality, utilizing their intuitive abilities.
tiraScInO vitatO raSmirEShA madhaH svEdAsI3dupari svidAsI3t
rEtOdhA Asan mahimAna AsaMtsvadhA avastAt prayatiH parastAt
Meaning: They discovered that the ability to create is distributed everywhere. The cosmic rays were radiating in every direction, upward and downward, and all around.
kO addA vEda ka iha pravOcat kuta ajAtA kuta iyaM visRuShTiH
arvArgda asya visarjanEnA2thA kO vEda yata AbaBUva
Meaning: Indeed, it’s uncertain when and where this creation began. Who will reveal the truth to us? Rishis emerged following the act of creation. Thus, they might not be fully aware of it.
iyaM visRuShTiryata AbaBUva yadi va dadhEyadi vA na
yO asyAdhyakShaH paramE vyOmaMtsO aMga vEda yadi vA na vEda
Meaning: From what origin did this creation arise, and what power sustains this creation? Who is aware of it? Only the God who made it might know, and he may not!
